I am an electrophysiologist and neurologist studying neural networks at the cellular scale in development and neurodevelopmental disorders. We record spontaneous activity from cortical networks in 2D dissociated cultures or 3D human cerebral organoids using microelectrode arrays (MEA) or two-photon calcium imaging and infer network connectivity based on correlated activity. We enjoy collaborating with computational groups to model network dynamics and development. We are currently integrating approaches from graph theory and control theory. We also collaborate with computer scientists specialised in machine-learning and AI to improve our automated analysis pipelines.
