I am currently a postdoc working on building biophysically realistic cell and network models of principal neurons in the right atrial ganglionic plexus, that innervate the SA node of the heart. During my doctoral studies, I worked on modelling the smooth muscle cells of the urinary bladder. On the experimental side, I also have basic beginner-level experience in cell culture, confocal and STORM imaging. I am equally fascinated with computational models as I am with experimental recordings.
In general, I am interested in a variety of topics: regulation of the cardiac cycle, memory formation and retention (with respect to presynaptic signalling, synapse formation and plasticity, role on hippocampus and amygdala), urinary incontinence, hypoxia, visual perception and recognition, COPD, motor control and movement neuroscience, learning, cognition, and sleep disorders, to name a few! Simply put, Neuroscience is my life!
