I am a PhD student in the group of Prof. Jedlicka in Giessen, Germany. My passion to do science brought me to the intercept of physics (master of science in the Netherlands), philosophy and psychology, combined in computational neuroscience ;) Currently I work on compartmental models to investigate excitability and synaptic plasticity in pathological hippocampal neurons, such as during Alzheimer's disease (poster session on Monday July 5th at 9pm Berlin time) or after lesion induced denervation. Especially the aspect of homeostasis in these cases drew my interest. We are at the moment working on a paper to even generalize firing rate invariance over all cell types and sizes: https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/787911v1
