Click here to view the instructions on joining the CNS*2020 Party! The banquet for the very first CNS meeting in 1992 was held in the Exploratorium, San Francisco’s world-famous hands-on science museum. The eventual bill for that banquet almost cost John Miller his house, but the event itself lives on in legend.
With this year’s CNS meeting being entirely on-line, we thought it would be interesting to, once again, return the banquet to a hands-on science venue, this time virtually, using Whyville.net. Whyville.net is one of the oldest and largest game-based learning spaces on the internet, launched in 1999, and currently with more than 8.5 MM registered users worldwide. Whyville is a product of Numedeon Inc, a company that Jim Bower established specifically to explore the use of the internet and simulation-based technology for science education 22 years ago. Within Whyville there are more than 150 games and activities across a wide range of subjects, many involving STEM education.
More information on how to join will follow.
